DepEd City Schools Division of Dasmariñas holds city-wide Advocacy Campaign on K-to-12 Senior High S

DASMARIÑAS CITY, PHILIPPINES – The Department of Education City Schools Division of Dasmariñas in partnership with the Dasmariñas City Government conducted the city-wide K to 12 Senior High School Program Advocacy at the De La Salle Health Sciences Institute Animo Center, September 5.
The event gathered about 3,500 participants composed of city officials, barangay captains and representatives from local government units, together with all school heads and teachers from all public secondary and elementary schools in the City of Dasmarinas. The advocacy campaign was held to educate all teachers and stakeholders about the Senior High School Program and address any concern or questions that they may have related to its implementation starting 2016.
The morning session, dedicated to heads and representatives from LGUs and non-government organization, was graced by Dasmariñas City Mayor Hon. Jennifer Austria-Barzaga. Present also were Vice Mayor Valeriano Encabo, Board Member Rudy Lara, and city councilors. This session was highlighted by Mayor Jenny’s message wherein she pledged the support of the City government in the implementation of the Senior High School Program, and assistance in the provision of school sites, facilities, laboratory equipment, and learning resources among others.
The advocacy program focused on the roll out of the Senior High School Program on 2016 and the corresponding preparations done by the Division Office and the City Government, which were discussed by Ms. Leylanie V. Adao, Division Senior High School Program Coordinator and Education Program Supervisor for Learning Resource. Questions on the K to 12 and Senior High School Program were addressed during the open forum.
The afternoon session, on the other hand, gathered all teachers and school heads from 11 public secondary schools and 28 elementary schools in Dasmariñas City. Representing the City Schools Division of Dasmariñas were Dr. Manuela S. Tolentino, Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Emmanuel L. Resurreccion, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Education Program Supervisors in charge of each learning area, and other Division Office personnel.
The first batch of Senior High School students will be coming in next academic year, (SY 2015-2016). As the Division makes the necessary preparations and moves for the success of Senior High School, the City Government and all other stakeholders and participants in the advocacy program pledged their support to its implementation.
